Okay, so I only have one chapter to post on the site today (unless I'm blanking on something else I wrote...), but it's new Shadows. Sad to say it's worksafe (and I believe the next one is, too, darn that plot!), but things start to be happening. Instead of people just standing around looking pretty. Or something like that....

Well, since Mac and I attended the Viz panel, we missed out on the news from the DMI/DMP panel until just now. So long San Fran for Yaoi Con - Digital Manga is taking over the con and moving it to Los Angelos next year. *sighs* I'm sure some of you will be happy to hear that, but some of us really like it here in SF.

We sorta had an inkling this would happen when DM had a survey they sent out right before the con and asked that as a question (moving the con to LA). Not happy right now. Not sure how we feel about them taking over the con, either.

Anyway, just a head's up for those of you who follow the con and maybe were planning on attending future events. Next year it'll be in LA, would be surprised if it's shifted back to SF any time soon after that.

Okay, fly-by post here just to give some updates on some news from Ycon (having a blast, run into some great people and met some new ones). The Teahouse girls, always adorable, had some amazing new goodies for the con and their panel was over-run w/ way too many people and so another one was added tomorrow (Mac and I just missed the cut-off darn it). Tiger & Bunny is hugely popular this year (even more than Durarara!). Starfighter is taking pre-orders for Vol 2 (got a lovely print for placing said pre-order!).

What I think will make most people extremely happy is Viz is kicking off a new BL line, SuBLime. The rumors are true. They'll have a Facebook and Twitter page up soon (if not already, try sublimemanga) and a website (should be sublimemanga.com - said it's just a header page for now but should be running in the next month). The books will just be English but will be available worldwide.

Content will be both print and digital ($12.99 and $5.99 respectively, unless another site offers you a better deal for print) and digital. Digital will start in December, print/digital in.. I think it was either June or July of next year. Digital only will be either rescued titles or titles that they feel are more 'risky' - meaning newer mangaka or titles to the US market or subject matter that's a bit risque. They're starting out w/ Sex Pistols in the digital only and they had some promising other titles in it as well. For the print, they're releasing Three Wolves Mountain as one of the first books.

They'll do two books a month each for print/digital and digital. For digital, you can either download pdf or read it at their website.

They're basically partnered w/ Animate/Libre so that means they'll be getting first crack at a lot of good titles (including Nitta's). They won't be exclusively Libre, but I'm wondering how that'll impact other publishers w/ Libre titles. But hopefully it'll open up the market a bit. Oh, and that digital price is for the whole volume. They're not doing the chapter by chapter crap like other companies are doing (and costing you a fortune by the time you get the whole book) - they said the only way they'd do that is if it's a really new series that's not in volume form yet and they want to release it as it's coming out.

Any way, that's about it! Just wanted to share the news.
